***New BIG George Bike Course***
Yes - our Half iron distance race (Sponsored by RASP) is getting a new bike course for 2012! This will be way faster than last year. Take a look at the interactive map on map my ride - http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/104810153

On your way back into the village, the Warrensburg hill will be closed to through traffic for a safe descent. When you enter the Village of Lake George, there will be a 'bike only' lane. This lane will continue all the way back to transition! You will be flying through the Village as you head back to start the run on fresh legs.

See our Facebook page as we are giving away some great Rudy Project gear - register today - prices go up on July 1st. The BIG George Triathlon is part of the Lake George Triathlon Festival brought to you by Miller64!

BIG George Course Alert --- We were just notified about the construction on Stewart Pond Dam. The road is temporarily closed. An alternate route has been posted on our website www.lgtrifestival.com. The route is still 56 miles for anyone that is going out on a training ride. It eliminates crossing over the dam as well as coming back across the Sacandaga river. Once you enter Hadley and turn right (~mile 31), it is an out and back to Hadley and then hooks back into the regular course at the Hadley intersection by the rail station. We have spoken with the local DPW and are awaiting word on when things will be open again. Will keep you up to date...

Registration for the Glens Falls Urban Assault is now open!

This is it! At 5 pm on Saturday, June 2nd, you’ll have the only chance to participate in the FIRST “Glens Falls Urban Assault”!
A ~4.6 mile course that navigates through the City of Glens Falls and its various landmarks. Along the way are challenging obstacles you’ll need to overcome!
This is an exciting, fun, new event that “couch potatoes”,  chiseled veterans or anyone in-between will equally enjoy. Compete alone or bring some friends to help get to the finish but don’t wear your best racing gear....it may get sloppy out there!

BIG George bike and run course updates coming soon.

Last year's BIG George bike course was a tad long, so we've altered it this year. We made it faster too! By adding a short out & back in Stony Creek, we were able to remove the switchback climb around mile 42 or so. The run course is going to take place mostly on the bike trail so that we can avoid have to mix with bikes on Beach Road.
